Pop Shoppe Is Back!

In the world of candy things are constantly changing. Old favorites are discontinued or given a twist and some are resurrected. Necco has released a new set of wafers. Tropical Necco Wafers! Featuring 6 new flavors: Coconut, Passion Fruit, Strawberry, Lime, Banana, and Mango. Tropical flavors have been a real big hit the last few years and no surprise these new Necco Wafers are amazing. In other news Blackjack and Clove gum has been discontinued. The company isn’t saying much about it other than that it is now unavailable. We have looked all over on the internet and our connections and not one place has Blackjack gum for sale. We hate to see people who have made our store a must pit stop on their travels come in and find out we don’t have what they are looking for.

Lastly something we’ve heard a lot this summer is “I didn’t know they still made pop shoppe!” So we thought it would be nice to give you some background into why we now have your favorite childhood soda even though it was out of production for 20 years. About 1983 Pop Shoppe stopped production. Sales had slowed down too much for the company to continue. However in 2002 a man named Brian Alger purchased the company and the rights to all the recipes with a plan to revive his favorite childhood soda. In 2004 he did just that, re-launching the company with 4 classic Pop Shoppe Flavors. In 2011 Pop Shoppe was finally re-introduced to the US and eventually was brought into our retro soda collection.

If you want some classic Pop Shoppe soda to bring you back to your childhood come on down to The Buzz on Broadway in Seaside, Oregon! We have tons of your favorite childhood candies as well!
